Having started my internship for the past few weeks, I must say this experience is definitely different from the jobs i have taken up before. There is a lot more observations than hands-on. But the fact that i see different things during each observation, had definitely open my eyes.. And these are real issues, a child's learning, education and future at stake. A few times i have seen the desperation and helplessness in the parents, who often do not know what to do with their kids. Nonetheless, they are still very proud of their children.
All these are very new to me. In the past, when a student was not coping well, the teacher will always attribute it to bad attitude or bad behavior. But there is actually more than that. These learning difficulties could be in-born or caused by a lack of exposure in the early environment. I am glad that more is being done to help these children.
However, diagnosis is just the beginning. The help or therapy that follows is really the crucial issue in changing the situation for the child..
Anyway, working life is tiring. Not that there is much physical exertion, but still.
And another thing is Heels. I have always thought that i will wear them when the time calls for it: working. But i just cant. I wish i could be as comfortable wearing them like the rest of the other ladies i see on the street. But hell no. Sometimes i wonder who invented heels for women? Why we gotta walk around with our own heels off the ground?
