Change is the only constant?

CHANGE. I have heard a lot about it these days. Change for the better and change for the worse. During the branch mtg, everyone shared on what change is to them in one word. The popular responses were 'adaptation', 'inevitable','stressful'... One unique response that i thought was quite nice was the 'waterfall', because the view of a waterfall is never the same every second.

However amidst all these, what happens to 'forever', 'everlasting'? Over the years, i have learnt that the term "Friends Forever' that we used so casually in our younger days is naive and hard to achieve, because of distance, time and other circumstances. But what about the promises that a couple made to each other? To the one who was supposed to be the dearest. Is it forgotten so easily over the years? Is it so hard to stay faithful to the one and only? I don't have the answer, but to me a betrayal is a betrayal, there is no excuse as it is a conscious decision to cause pain and hurt to your supposed dearest.
