Anyway, the school holiday is finally here but that does not mean end of work, at least not yet. There's invigilation and many other miscellaneous stuff to do.
It's unsettling when u duno where u will be next year, i wish the ppl in charge could be more efficient and just let us know early in advance. A lot of pple have told me to enjoy while i can as this is the honeymoon period. i guess this is really true as i dun have much responsibility now and can leave with a month's notice. The bugging thing is whether i want to do this for the next few years of my life?
I like the job for its working hours, the holidays, as well as the mulit-facet nature as in it is not just a repetitive, desk-bound one. Just this week for post-exam, i was involved in three different projects - boggle for EL, environmental programme as well as sexuality education.
I like some of the interactions with the students where i get insights into what they are thinking and feeling, some of which i can agree with a few years back. I guess they are still at a stage when they can and will speak freely without thinking. Some of their responses and actions reallie give me a hard time in trying not to laugh out loud.
I also am grateful for the learning culture in this line of work. Everyone is willing to share their experiences and tips and i must say i have learnt a lot through those formal and informal sharings. i have heard from friends who have unencouraging colleagues that are not too willing to teach and share tips/info with them.
But undeniably along with it comes the stresses of dealing with challenging students and possibly parents. Sometimes it is debatable about what is child's play and what is unacceptable. It is also hard to draw a conclusion on who's to blame when sth happens and what is considered right or wrong...
Well, for now I am just glad the holidays are here! =D
