A roller coaster day

Had a roller-coaster day today.. feeling very grey and down..
Sometime i do wonder if this job is reallie for me, or i shd say if i am suitable for it.. i am not a loud or stern person to begin with..

THe past week has been quite stressful as i was on my own for ss classes. not to mention having to mark tons of stuff, including ss tests (for the first time).

ESS class was all right, at least i got most of their attention, and they could follow and understand me..

THen there was my second time relieving a nt class. i cant help feeling low whenever i enter one. THe mood is so unlike a classrm, but more like a CC, or old folks home. Haizz..

However before i could shout TGIF, my week has to end on a very unhappy note. R came back but it didnt help.

After hours and days of marking, i was a little shocked when the usually quiet boy went out of the class (despite telling him that the pass is with somebody else), bcos he did badly for the test. I was told by someone in the class that it was my fault (that he cried) bcos i failed him..

Then i was asked if i marked their papers in a rush, as the handwriting was small..

Then while recovering from the earlier shocks, when i was about to go through the answers, i was told that i was too soft. i was like hello u would be able to hear if you just keep your mouth shut.. not that you want to take anything in..

Then as if things were not bad enough, before i had time to recover, i was asked to talk to this kid who tried to skip class , whom i dont recognise at all. All of a sudden, i find myself as a counsellor. As we talked, i realise it wasnt just a simple case of skipping class.. find myself a little helpless in dealing with such problems..

I was so wrong when i thought that was the end of it. On the way back to base camp, R and i learnt that somebody from our class cheated in a test..

Walked a few steps, and we were told that the parents of a good student were fighting and thus he din do his hwk.THat was when i recalled seeing him looking a little down, and less chatty a few days back.At that time, I didnt think much of it, and thought it was just exam stress or plain tiredness. I wish i had been more observant and showed more concern..

I guess as ping said there are ups and downs in all jobs. Different kind of work wil have their own challenges. Welcome to the real world..

TGIF!
